Historic Buildings

There are over 147 listed building entries with Historic England for Harleston, from medieval times, through Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian up to the present day.

Unlike other towns which have stripped back the subsequent development and evolution of the buildings, those in Harleston are often hidden under a brick Georgian or Victorian overcoat.  Harleston buildings show how fashion and society has changed over the last 600 years and still retains evidence of former days.

Hidden Gems

Those with a keen eye and inquisitive mind will be able to identify the features which reveal the period of the buildings and spot details which uncover those which hide earlier incarnations.
