Voices in the Church

AUDIO TRAIL - Listen to local people as they take a journey through the history of St Marys Church, and the association with a family who travelled on the Mayflower.

Voices in the Church

Fri 6 & Sun 8 - Sun 15: 10am - 4pm, Sat 7: 10am - 2pm

There has been a church on this site for over 1,000 years. It has a wonderful history and some fantastic artefacts. St Mary’s was the church to the local Fuller family who travelled to America in 1620 as part of the Mayflower journey. A trail has been developed to commemorate the link between St Mary’s, the Fuller family and the very first Thanksgiving meal some 400 years ago.

There are locations throughout the church at which to stop and listen to an audio clip given by local specialists. You will be taken on a journey through the history of St Mary’s Church, and the association with a family who travelled on the Mayflower.

There is a card at each location which shows the stop number, name and a QR code. Please scan the codes to hear subject guides reveal some interesting facts about the church and the local Fuller family.

This runs in association with with 'Animals in the Church'. Something for all the family.
