These are the next meetings of the Harleston and District Historical Society .

Harleston and District Historical Society meet in St John's Church on Broad Street on the second Thursday of each month.

​Meetings start at 2:00 pm and last about two hours.  They usually consist of a speaker on an aspect of local, regional or national historical interest.

Refreshments are available.

    At Norwich Thorpe Station on the evening of 10th September 1874, a momentary misunderstanding between the Night Inspector and young Telegraph Clerk resulted in an inevitable head-on collision between two heavily laden steam trains. This is a tale of the 26 victims, notable survivors and heroes.
