The Harleston Historical Society are the proud owners of an old fire engine which operated in our town. The Harleston Fire Engine dates from about 1775. It was saved by Mervyn Hickford and Judy Alder for the town but has languished in storage for many years while a home was being found.
It was picked up from its secret location on Saturday.
Loaded onto a truck and transported to its new home.
It now takes pride of place in the window of the Norfolk Fire Museum https://www.norfolkfiremuseum.org in Great Yarmouth.
It will be restored on site. Finally, after many years our fire engine will be available for people to see and enjoy.
